Formerly known as Beach Video Services, Beachtek started their business as a small video production company in Toronto, Canada in 1991. They quickly realized the many inherent limitations in low cost prosumer and even professional gear.

From these problems they first developed solutions for their own needs. Their first device was a simple XLR to mini-plug adapter that allowed us to connect professional microphones to our Sony VX3 camcorder. The adapter was a crude device but it worked well. They soon realized that many other people had this same need. With your encouragement they developed this product with many of your suggestions and ideas over many generations to the full featured DXA-4 and DXA-4P adapters that Production Gear distribute today.

Beachtek are now expanding to include many new products including more models of audio adapters, a stereo VU meter for the Sony VX1000, accessory brackets and more.
